Conflicts of Interest
NinePointTwo Capital LLC is a fee-only fiduciary. The Firm receives no sales commissions, finders’ fees, or third-party compensation for recommending any product, and is compensated solely by advisory fees paid by its clients. Those fees vary by strategy, so the Firm has a financial interest in the strategy a client selects. Material on this website that compares a NinePointTwo strategy against an alternative the Firm does not manage should be read with that interest in mind. Form ADV Part 2A describes the Firm’s fees and its conflicts of interest in full.
Investment Risk
Investing involves risk, including the substantial risk of loss. Alternative investment strategies, including long/short equity, futures-based strategies, and quantitative multi-strategy approaches, involve unique and complex risks and are not suitable for all investors. Trading in futures contracts carries a high degree of risk and is inherently leveraged, which can magnify losses. Leverage, Short Selling, and Margin
Certain NinePointTwo Capital strategies, including tax-aware long/short, borrow securities and use margin. Losses on a short position are not limited to the amount invested, and an account using leverage can lose more than the capital committed to it. Leverage magnifies gains and losses alike and increases the volatility of an account. Financing and borrow costs are ongoing and rise with the size of the short book. Margin approval is required, and a broker may demand additional collateral or liquidate positions at unfavorable prices. These strategies are not suitable for all investors.
